As soon as the 2010 college football season ended, Monday night, national writers began thinking about what's to come in 2011.
The Boise State football program will once again be on everyones radar.
How could they not be?
Heading into next fall the Broncos will replace 10 starters, but they'll bring back Heisman Trophy finalist Kellen Moore at quarterback, starting running back Doug Martin and one heck of a defensive line, minus Ryan Winterswyk.
Cue the way too early polls.
As of January 11th ESPN's Mark Schlabach already has high hopes for the Broncos. He starts them in the number five position behind 1) Oklahoma, 2) Alabama, 3) Oregon, 4) LSU. Schlabach has Mountain West foe TCU ranked 18. No other schools on BSU's 2011 schedule are currently in his top 25.
On Wednesday Andy Staples of Sports Illustrated painted a different picture with his 'too early top 25'.
Staples top 5:
1. Oklahoma
2. Oregon
3. LSU
4. Alabama
5. Stanford
Other notables are TCU at number 8, Boise State at 11, and the Broncos first opponent of the season, Georgia, ranked 21st.
So it looks like there are already a couple different schools of thought regarding where the Broncos should begin in the fall of 2011.
The only thing Bronco Nation can be sure of is if the program wants to go to another BCS bowl game they are going to have to go undefeated, again.
