Donors of Boise State press box will also get tax break
Boise State football fans who have donated money to the team's new press box are also helping themselves come tax day.
University officials say $37 million has been chipped in by boosters to pay for construction of a new press box and luxury suites.
Come tax day, federal rules allow those same donors to write off 80% of the gift.
University officials say they are following the model used by major universities to expand athletic facilities through charitable tax breaks.
About 400 companies and individuals have donated in one way or another to the Bronco Stadium upgrades.
