Defense shines in Broncos' Blue Orange Game
The Boise State Broncos wrapped up spring practices with Friday night's Blue and Orange game at Bronco Stadium. Just like last year, one of the big questions in 2008 is who will start at quarterback.
Red-shirt freshman Kellen Moore capped a strong spring with an outstanding performance in the final scrimmage. Moore completed 11-of-13 passes for 99 yards. He led the team on the only touchdown drive of the night connecting with Sophomore receiver Titus Young on a long pass late in the game. That set up a touchdown from redshirt freshman running back Doug Martin who carried 3 times for 11 yards.
Senior Ian Johnson carried 9 times for 20 yards. Ian Johnson sat out spring practice a year ago.
The defense once again shined and finished with a dominating performance capping an impressive spring.
On special teams, senior place kicker Brock Jaramillo showed off a strong leg and plenty of accuracy in connecting on 3 field goals of 35 yards or longer. He is making a bid to compete with Sophomore incumbent
